"The Runway" will be built.

We are deeply saddened to report that THE RUNWAY (now called "Capital Cabaret") has won the court battle and will be built.  This will be the first strip club built in Raleigh in over a decade and from its prominant perch overlooking I-540 and Hwy 70 it will "transform" the face of North Raleigh and the Briercreek area in particular.

C2A has been engaged in this battle for nearly three years, but the real defenders of decency in Raleigh are Barbara Mangum of Triangle Equipment Co. and Van Eure of The Angus Barn.  These two brave women invested a lot of money, time and energy in their legal attempt to stop this smut from coming into the N. Raleigh area.  We should all go out of our way to contact them and say "Thank You" for taking a stand!  Also, please consider adding them to your prayers as this new "business" will certainly bring an unwelcomed element to their work environments...especially at Triangle Equipment Co. which is right next door to the new strip club.

If we can learn anything from this loss, it is this:

ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES!

• The three Judge Appellate Court panel that ruled in favor of the strip club twice is made up of three liberals...two were elected in 08' (Wynn & Stephens) and McGee was elected in 04'.  These people will be serving an 8-year term.
  
• This nightmare originated with the Raleigh Board of Adjustments...6 members are appointed by the Raleigh City Council and two more by the Wake Co. Board of Commissioners.
  

If we continue to lose elections, these types of decisions will become the norm.

Our prayer is that all God fearing citizens will begin to see that sitting these things out is simply not an option.  Redemption of a culture like ours can only be found in the Cross of Christ, but let's not forget God's promise in 2 Chronicles 7:14 regarding the healing of our land...if HIS people, called by HIS name, will humble THEMSELVES, PRAY, seek HIS face, and turn from THEIR wicked ways...THEN God will hear from Heaven, forgive our sins and heal our land.
