C2ActionGram 1960's style sex-ed in NC schools? Friends, The State Senate will be voting on the "Healthy Youth Act HB 88" this coming Tuesday, June 23rd... This bill should be called the "Unhealthy, Sexually Enabled & Encouraged Youth Act" because it will REMOVE ABSTINANCE as the standard in our state. Note: if any NC school wants to use the "comprehensive" sex-ed curriculum, IT ALREADY HAS THAT OPTION...and only 11 out of 100 NC counties have chosen to use it over the past 10+ years! THIS NEW BILL IS ALL ABOUT A RADICAL, SEXUALLY LIBERAL WORLDVIEW LIKE THAT OF THE 1960'S! Forget the "feel-good" chatter and consider the facts:
Here is the bottom line All of the Republican Senators are going to vote AGAINST HB88 this coming Tuesday, and it looks like a few Democrats are going to vote against it as well. HOWEVER...that isn't enough to defeat it. We need a few more Democratic Senators to vote AGAINST SB88 and FOR protecting NC school children. The names and contact info for 5 Democratic Senators is listed below...we have been told that they might be willing to vote against SB88 if they get enough support from the grassroots. PLEASE call and email each one of them before Tuesday morning, June 23rd! They need to be encouraged...NOT hammered. Here is a sample script/email: Dear Senator Basnight, I believe you to be an honorable man and a public servant that has the well-being of North Carolinians in your heart. Because of that, I have to believe you see the danger in passing HB88, the so-called "Healthy Youth Act". NC schools already have the option of using comprehensive sex-ed, but few have chosen to do so. I don't want to see our children endangered by a radical sex-ed curriculum that assumes "everybody is doing it" and leads them down the road to sexual promiscuity, STD's and unwanted pregnancies. I HAVE TO BELIEVE THAT YOU DON'T WANT THAT, EITHER. PLEASE vote AGAINST HB88 this coming Tuesday and help protect NC school children from the dangers of sexual promiscuity. Respectfully,
Our friends inside the Senate have told us that they are receiving hundreds of emails and calls from the supporters of this radical bill...and they keep asking, "Where are the Christians?". Like it or not, many legislators put great weight on the volume of calls they get regarding various bills - IF WE DON'T MAKE OUR VOICES HEARD, WE WILL LOSE EVERY TIME. For the sake of children all over North Carolina...PLEASE MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS. Here is the contact information: Sen. Tony Rand of Fayetteville email: tony.rand@ncleg.net office: (919)733-9892 personal: (910)222-8096 Sen.
