This Saturday: The 7 Deadly Sins...Alive & Well in the Church.

Friends,

Pride * Envy * Gluttony * Lust * Anger * Greed * Sloth

This Saturday I am starting a 7-part series on the radio show entitled, The 7 Deadly Sins: Alive & Well in the Church.  We would all do well to take a good look in the mirror and see how these might be manifesting themselves in our own lives:

Pride is excessive belief in one's own abilities, that interferes with the individual's recognition of the grace of God. It has been called the sin from which all others arise. Pride is also known as Vanity.

Envy is the desire for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation.

Gluttony is an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires.

Lust is an inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body.

Anger is manifested in the individual who spurns love and opts instead for fury. It is also known as Wrath.

Greed is the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual. It is also called Avarice or Covetousness.

Sloth is the avoidance of physical or spiritual work.

I hope you will join me this Saturday as we travel down this tough road together, seeking to unmask the sin in our lives and find victory through the power, grace and love of Jesus Christ.  If you feel like voicing your opinion on how these sins are showing up in the Church (or in your own life), just click HERE and post your comments on the blog.

This Saturday?  Sloth.

In His Service & Yours,

Steve Noble
