C2A This Week This Week's Sacred Cow: Gossip Friends, A friend recently shared with me a definition of gossip that stuck with me:confessing somebody else's sin. The Hebrew word translated “gossip” in the Old Testament is defined as “one who reveals secrets, one who goes about as a talebearer or scandal-monger.” A gossiper is a person who has privileged information about people and proceeds to reveal that information to those who have no business knowing it. A fools's mouth is his undoing, and his lips are a snare to his soul. The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down to a man's inmost parts. Proverbs 18:7-8 How often do we dine on these "choice morsels"? How often does this type of sinful talk enter our conversations? Where do you draw the line when you are talking about other people in their absence? Have you ever disguised gossip as a prayer request? Have you ever heard a Pastor address this from the pulpit? Join me this Saturday at high noon Eastern as another sacred cow buys the farm. In His Service & Yours, Steve Noble
