CRITICAL- School Board Runoff!!! (and other races)

Next Tuesday's runoff election for the District 2 seat on the Wake Co. School Board is a perfect example of why C2A exists!  You can't help impact our community if you aren't informed, and that is why C2A remains on the frontlines!  

URGENT:  John Tadesco, our candidate of choice in that race, fell just short of the required 50% to win it outright.  He ended up with 49.4% of the votes, proving that every vote indeed does count, especially the ones that don't get cast.  As a result, his opponnent in that race, Cathy Truitt, called for a runoff.  A few days later she decided to withdraw her name and even endorsed Tedesco!  Game over, right?  Wrong. 

The Wake Co. Board of Elections had never dealt with a late withdrawl from a runoff election before so they referred it to the State Board who decided this past Wednesday that the race should go on anyway!

• Who cares if the challenger, Cathy Truitt, withdrew her name and endorsed her former opponent, John Tadesco?
• Who cares if it costs the Wake Co. taxpayers an additional $30,000 to hold the runoff election in District 2 next Tuesday?
• Who cares if we throw common sense out the door?

To answer that question you need to look at what could happen next Tuesday on November 3rd:

• If John Tadesco gets at least 50% of the votes it actually will be "game over".
• If Cathy Truitt wins, the seat will remain vacant and the current School Board will fill the seat, undoubtedly with someone that agrees with their policies.  So much for the voters of District 2!

The forces who oppose John Tadesco will do everything they can to see that he doesn't hit the 50% mark next Tuesday because THAT is the only way they can keep this profound shift in power from happening on the School Board...and THAT is why we are calling you to action!

If you live in District 2 you MUST get out to vote next Tuesday!

If you don't live in District 2 (see map here) then PLEASE forward this email to all of your like-minded friends who do and urge them to get out and vote next Tuesday!
