C2A... FYI A year-end note from Steve Noble... Friends, This C2A email will be a bit more personal than usual but I wanted to share what's on my heart with you as we wrap up 2009 and move into 2010...and ask you to consider doing two favors for C2A. One of the most challenging questions I get is, "What does Called2Action do?". Back in 2004 and 2005 when we were primarily a political action group the answer was easy, but since 2006 it has become increasingly more complicated. Yes, we still engage the local and statewide political arena from time to time (like the recent School Board election victory), but God has greatly expanded our mission field as well as our influence. A great example if that was the Harvest Crusade back in 2007... The crusade itself was the culmination of a 15-month process that relied heavily on Called2Action - our church partners formed the base and our individual supporters filled most of the key committee positions as well as a significant portion of the volunteer slots. Over 40,000 individuals attended the 3-night crusade...3,000 made professions of faith or re-commitments to Christ...over 200 local churches were involved...over 500 volunteers in key positions as well as another 2,200 decision follow-up counselors. God took our "political/cultural" machinery and used it to spread the Gospel and involve nearly 3,000 local believers in the process! In 2008 C2A continued to engage the culture but we also began to work on the Convoy of Hope as well as The Truth Project and both efforts came to fruition in 2009. The Convoy of Hope touched the lives of 6,000 people in the inner city of Raleigh...40,000 lbs of groceries were given away, free haircuts, health screenings, a job fair, and over 95% of those folks were prayed with individually. The effort required 65 churches and over 700 volunteers and was a great example of how the Body can touch a local community in great need. Our Truth Project Regional Training was a huge success as well...over 700 people attended, including people from states as far away as Texas and Washington! Today there are Truth Project small groups meeting in churches and homes all over The Triangle and God's people are being transformed in the process. Another interesting development in the life of C2A has certainly been the radio ministry. Called2Action This Week can be heard nationwide and in Canada and our podcasts are being downloaded or listened to nealy 2,000 times/month via OnePlace.com, a web portal for Christian broadcast ministries. In fact, people from other countries are listening too! We have had downloads to Australia, South Korea, Switzerland, Indonesia, the Phillipines, Germany and Brazil! Isn't it amazing what God has done with our little group of Believers? What does the future hold for us? That certainly is my #1 question! The New Year will certainly bring new challenges and opportunities as well as a chance to continue the good work we are already doing. Also of note is the fact that I should have my first book out by April or May! THE MAKING OF A CHRISTIAN WACKO is all about moving from the ordinary to the extraordinary as a follower of Christ...and how that has unfolded in my life over the past nine years, mostly through Called2Action. Like the radio show and C2A itself, there are definitely No Scared Cows in the book! Finally, here are the two favors I'd like you to consider. First of all, will you commit to pray for Called2Action regularly? We can have all the other bells & whistles but without prayer we won't have God's favor. Please pray for God's provision for the ministry but mostly for God's leading as to what He wants C2A to do for His Kingdom and His Glory. Secondly, will you make a year-end, tax-deductible donation to C2A? We need $5,000 to be in good shape as we head into the New Year.
