C2ActionGram A World at War...and C2A. Friends, In his book, Waking the Dead, John Eldridge makes a simple but powerful statement: "Things are not what they seem. This is a world at war." He then goes on to explain, "The world in which we live is a combat zone, a violent clash of kingdoms, a bitter struggle unto death...You were born into a world at war; and you will live all your days in the midst of a great battle, invloving all the forces of heaven and hell and played out here on earth...Until we come to terms with war as the context of our days, we will not understand life." It seems like C2A has constantly been at war since it's inception back in March of 2004. Politics...Pop Culture...Education...Evangelism...even in The Church. We have waged war in demonstrations, prayer gatherings, school board meetings, an evangelistic crusade, the voting booth, and over the airwaves & the internet. If you could read some of the vitriolic emails I've received as the Chairman of C2A you would know that for me, the war got "up close & personal" in a hurry. Quite frankly, there have been numerous times when I wanted to quit. Engaging in the battle the way we have has not been without cost. For me personally, it has taken a toll on my finances as well as my personal life. Thankfully, and without surprise, God has provided for all of our needs. Where do we go from here? Much of that depends on YOU. I've given God my unconditional "yes" when it comes to C2A, as long as it continues to bear fruit for His Kingdom. Take the radio ministry, for example. You might be interested to know that...
Besides the numbers, prominant Evangelicals like Anne Graham Lotz are quite encouraging... "As a radio talk show host, Steve Noble is eneregetic, bold, fresh and culturally relevant. His engaging style keeps the listener tuned in." Others voices, like the liberal website Pam's House Blend, not so much... "I'm sick of Called2Action, a group of professional American Taliban protesters and activists." Oh well. He doesn't call any of us to be popular...just faithful.
My challenge to you. Do you believe that God is continuing to work through C2A? If you do, we are asking you to support us financially. Our 2010 budget to stay the course is $35,000. One third of that will come in via our monthly contributors, for whom we are deeply grateful, but that still leaves a significant gap.
As long as God's people respond, C2A will continue to boldly proclaim His Truth in the public arena. The war is not going away until the King ends it Himself, so in the meantime, He has called us to engage. We are only limited by our ability to fund the effort.
