C2A This Week The State of the Nation Friends, We are on week #2 in our new series entitled Cold Hard Facts: The Most Unpopular Christian Truths. We will be discussing why claiming the Bible is completely true and accurate is an increasingly unpopular position...but God has really laid it on my heart to jump from that subject into another subject that I believe is directly related; the state of our nation. "Because Roman civilization perished through barbarian invasions, we are perhaps too much inclined to think that that is the only way a civilization can die. - Alexis de Tocqueville, Democracy in America Tomorrow will mark the 234th birthday of America...but according to the studies of the world's great civilizations, we are living on borrowed time. Did you know that the average great civilizations in world history lasted, on average, about 200 years? In the book, When Nations Die, the author identifies "ten symptoms of decline":
Sounds eerily familiar, doesn't it? Here is another fact: at no time in human history have all ten symptoms existed in one place at one time until now...and it's here, in America. The Bible speaks of a great "falling away"...of coming judgment...when right is wrong and wrong is right. We can't escape the future God has designed, so the question we must ask is, What do we do in the meantime? This is the subject I will be addressing on today's show.
